On March 16th, 1994, 11 interested local historians reunited to built up the "Geschichtsfrënn vun der Gemeng Hesper". The general objective was to  preserve and to reappraise the historical and cultural values of a municipality that is economically, politically and culturally the most important one in our country. To the 11 board members of 1994 joined a number of interested residents of the municipality over the years a as club members. Through the joint efforts of all club members a serious basis in historical material and knowledge could be guaranteed.

Over time, exhibitions, lectures, commemorations and local celebrations and  localhistoricalworks were published. There is also a photo - archive, which has grown in a few years to over 10,000 pictures of the municipality of Hesperange. Representatives of our association are repeatedly asked for cooperations in local historical in pamphlets and books. From March 27th, 1996 we are an "Association sans but lucratif" and as such are duly recorded in the Commercial Register.

We are grateful, if you like our work and we bring our municipality a step closer to you. In the future, we will appreciate all help and support. If you have photos from the past, "Doudebiller", postcards, medals, publications, newspaper articles, posters, letters, or older emigrants material or other materials, then please contact one of our members or phone. We are glad to receive and copy your material, so  that it can be retained for the future and not to be forgotten or thrown away. Obviously, you will receive your documents and your material in the same condition, in which you gave us it.

If you are interested in participating in our committee, so do not hesitate to tell us. We are grateful for any help and it requires no prior knowledge. A bit of good will, sufficient interest in the history or the municipality itself or a good wire to valuable contacts, all of this can help the "Geschichtsfrënn vun der Gemeng Hesper " to push the efforts on the cultural and historical way forward.
